Tooth-colored composites provide a conservative and esthetic replacement of tooth structure lost due to decay, wear, or damage.
Composites may also be used to help improve the shape of a tooth, improve contacts between teeth, or help with notches along the gumline.
The risk of developing decay can be decreased by coating the deep grooves of molars and premolars with sealants, providing a smoother surface to more easily maintain with regular brushing.
Digital radiographs are a conservative tool that show parts of the tooth and supporting bone that can’t be seen with just a visual exam, helping provide a more complete diagnosis of dental concerns.
Gum tissues support the teeth, and a deeper cleaning can help to stabilize the effects of gum disease that has progressed past gingivitis, or the more basic inflammation of the gums.
A crown covers an entire tooth that has been damaged due to trauma, or has been weakened over time due to large or multiple fillings. Most crowns today are made using strong ceramics and provide a durable, yet esthetic, option to encompass the tooth.
Bridges: A space that is created by one or more missing teeth may be replaced using a bridge, which uses teeth adjacent to the space as supports for a replacement which would be permanently attached to those supports.
When a tooth becomes compromised due to decay, trauma, or gum disease, it may be most appropriate to remove the tooth and evaluate possible replacements for the tooth. Many extractions can be performed in our office, though some may be referred to a specialist due either to complexity, or as part of the plan to replace the tooth in the future.
When only some natural teeth still remain in an arch, and are adequately stable, a partial denture can provide a replacement for the missing teeth. If all of the teeth in an arch are missing, or no adequate support teeth remain, then a full denture can help restore some of the function that has been lost.
Dental implants can help replace a missing tooth or multiple missing teeth by providing a solid support on which to place a new crown, bridge, or denture. We work with dental specialists who help plan and place the implants, and our office works to provide the final restoration that attaches to the implants.
When the nerve inside the tooth becomes affected due to deep decay, trauma, or cracks in the tooth, root canal therapy treats the inside of the tooth and can help preserve the tooth. We will help to diagnose issues with the nerve and work with specialists to provide the appropriate therapy.
TMJ Treatment: Different factors can contribute to discomfort in or around the jaw joint, so these factors would need to be evaluated to determine an appropriate approach to address the discomfort.
